Hector’s rescue dogs from many different situations; some Greyhounds arrive after a short life of racing and are young, fit and healthy. Some dogs spend only a few weeks with us while being assessed and neutered before being adopted into forever homes.

Sadly, some of the Sighthounds taken into Hector’s care have been rescued from desperate situations and are in great need of more help. Some dogs may arrive with untreated injuries, wounds or bone fractures. Greyhounds that have been used for breeding after their racing careers are over are much older when they come to us and have never seen the world outside of a racing kennel.

Some dogs need a little more time with Hector’s to adjust to their new lives. These beautiful hounds will stay with Hector’s for as long as they need until they are ready to move on to a loving forever home.

Your sponsorship of a kennel will help with the increasing boarding costs and costs of veterinary care.

Would you like to sponsor one of our kennels? For a monthly donation, we will email you a sponsorship certificate, along with a quarterly update of how the dogs are getting on and, later in the year, you’ll receive a Christmas Card and Hector’s Calendar. You can also sponsor a kennel as a gift for somebody else – supply us with the email & postal address of the person you’d like to gift the sponsorship to, and we’ll do the rest.
