After receiving a cry for help from a southern Spanish greyhound refuge, we sent a small, self-funded team to see how we can help. What we saw was some of the worst signs of cruelty and neglect we have experienced in over 20 years of rescuing greyhounds.
We visited the local killing station where those dogs handed in by the hunters get killed, those that don't get handed in are often abandoned and left to starve, are thrown down wells and hung from trees. Distemper is rife throughout, some dogs are infested with ticks and very many are mere skeletons.
We are determined to do all we can to help save some of these poor Galgos by bringing them back to England and finding wonderful forever homes for them.
With your support, we can help as many as possible.
