I'm Hero, and I already have my forever home.
But I have greyhound friends still looking for homes
See my friendsHero is a big White and Black four-year-old Greyhound who has retired from Greyhound racing. Hero, as you can see from his photos, is an extremely good looking boy. He also appears to have completed his racing life without any of the bumps and scars many Greyhounds acquire while racing, he is a big Greyhound, probably tipping the scales around 40kgs.
Hero is very nervous when he meets new people. He is however affectionate and loving when he decides he can trust you which is something he clearly gives a lot of thought to. Hero much prefers to stay beside the people he knows and keep them close rather than take any risks with a strange person. However, once he gets to know someone and learns to trust them he shows himself to be quite a character and is full of fun and a bit of a chatterbox.
Hero walks well on his lead as long as it’s with someone he trusts. He is clearly very worried if a stranger tries to lead him and refuses to walk with them. Hero is well worth getting to know and gaining his trust. Gaining his trust may mean visiting him a few times so he can get to know you, but this would be time well spent for Hero is a really fabulous boy with a fun character waiting to be shared with his forever people.
Hero will need some reassurance adjusting to the world around his forever home, for this reason, we feel he needs a home without children and a quieter home without lots of visitors and new faces. Hero can live as an only dog or with a female Greyhound, he is not cat safe.
