Join Hector’s Irish charmer Fred celebrating St Patrick‘s Day with a fun walk around the magnificent Chirk Castle (Wrexham, LL14 5AF).

The walk, which starts at 11.00am, is just 2.98km with only 53m of ascent and the terrain is gravel paths and fields. The pace is leisurely ( approx 1 hour) with some great Irish company, enjoy some craic with Hector’s Fred.

A bit of dressing up will add colour and help celebrate the day - wear something green if you can. All breed of dogs are very welcome (on leads please) and people without dogs are also welcome to join us, or come along and meet our hounds.

Car parking is free, refreshments are also available. National trust members please bring your membership cards.

Hector’s are so thrilled to have been chosen as the nominated charity for Oswestry’s 4th annual Bunny Run sponsored by Sainsbury’s. Please, please sign up for this fun event (14th April), find your bunny ears, polish your running shoes and help raise vital funds for Hector’s Greyhound Rescue.

Oswestry Bunny Run 2019

United Reformed Church, Colwyn Avenue, Rhos on Sea, LL28 4RA.  10.00am - 12.30pm

Following the success of our inaugural Plant Fair last year we have decided to repeat it again this year.  In addition to lots of plants and garden accessories on sale, there will be a Raffle, Tombola, Cake Stall, Craft Stalls, Dog Accessories, Toys & Books, Bric a Brac, Spring Hampers Prize Draw and more.  Entry will be £1.00 and include Tea/Coffee and Biscuit.

That Dog Fun Dog Show, The Tivoli, Brunswick Road, Buckley, Flintshire, CH7 2EF. 

We will have a stall at this indoor dog show, where there will also be Dogs Trust Training Sessions, Dog Grooming, Animal Handling and Talks, Stalls, Activities and Refreshments.

The Old Racecourse Common, Oswestry, Shropshire, SY10 7PL. 11:00-13:00

This is our favourite location for a Hector’s Walk, and May is a particularly wonderful time in this beautiful setting with the bluebells in bloom. The Racecourse is situated on the B4580 Road to Llansilin from Oswestry. From the town centre follow the road out of the town and up the steep hill for about 2 miles. At the crest of the hill follow the signs to the Racecourse Common.

The Racecourse Common was a popular venue for horse racing until 1848. The figure of eight circuit is about a mile and half long and offers spectacular views over Shropshire and Wales.

All breed dogs are welcome ( on leads please ) and of course, anyone without a dog is very welcome to join us. We respectfully ask that you clean up after your dogs and do everything you can to preserve this beautiful area as we found it.

Basic refreshments of tea/ coffee & cake etc will be on sale. Sponsor forms are available below, or just join us if you can’t collect sponsors and give a small donation on the day. All donations/sponsors will go to Hector’s Greyhound Rescue.

RSPCA Dog Show, Bryn y Maen, Colwyn Bay, LL28 5EJ. 11.00am - 4.00pm,

We will once again be attending this family friendly event. In addition to the fun dog classes, there will be a dog agility course, games, tombola, stalls, barbeque and refreshments. There will also be plenty of Hector's Hounds in attendance.

Deganwy Prom Day, Deganwy Beach, Deganwy, Conwy. 11.00am - 4.00pm, 

This is a lovely family event situated right on the sea shore which includes a Fun Dog Show, Dancing Displays, Children's Sports Day, Games, Music, a large of variety of Stalls, Food & Refreshments and many local charities, including Hector's.

Companion Dog Show and Family Fun Day, Bellis Brothers Garden Centre, Holt, Wrexham, LL13 9YU. 10.00am - 4.00pm

This dog show comprises Pedigree Classes and Novelty Classes and is in aid of The Nightingale Hospice. Last year our very own George won 3rd place out of 35 entrants in the Most Handsome Male Class! And Manny was also 3rd in the Veteran Dog Class. In addition there will be entertainment, face painting, refreshments and lots of stalls.

Cremorne Gardens, Ellesmere, Shropshire SY12 0LZ (by the lake). 12:00 - 15:00

Hector’s Annual Fun Dog Show is our most popular event which gets bigger and better each year. It is a chance for everyone to show off your gorgeous dogs what ever their breed. There will be two rings - one for sighthounds and another ring for all other dog breeds, with fun classes for all to enter including a fun game of musical hoops which is always very popular.

Rosettes and prizes will be given for 1st - 3rd place and Best in Show in both rings. Judging commences 12 noon. £1.50p per entry payable in the ring.

This is a beautiful setting for a dog show beside the lake in Ellesmere; it is a really enjoyable, relaxed afternoon. Food and drink refreshment stalls will be available or bring a deck chair and a picnic and sit back and enjoy the show. There will also be lots of stalls for you to browse including Hector’s merchandise stall.
